I'm a fan of running. But now I'm kind of injured and can't run as far as I'd like, or as often. So today, I revisit my former self, the one who used to run all the time. Here's a link to an essay published in Runner's World. Tomorrow I'm posting a long piece about Princess Di. Stay tuned!
In the meantime, here's the link to the Runner's World piece
Enjoy!
Laura, the trick with running that I have had to relearn over and over is to take it slow and don't increase your mileage too quickly. I love being outside--most of the time. And getting out of the house is a bonus too. Plus, I don't want anyone to laugh at me at the gym. I prefer people to laugh in their cars where I can't hear them.

You are a great writer. Made me want to try running more. It just hurts. I seem to have found all the cardio machines at the gym and tamed them, but this one. Your prose made me want to try.
